On Writing and Getting Old

I'm not a good writer but one thing for sure I like to write. Back in my younger days, I used to have a journal and wrote a few poems and stories. When it comes to writing essays, even though I may not have ample vocabulary to express myself fully , but I like doing the task. During the yesteryear, you couldn't buy essay anywhere, so you have to work so hard to come up with a 500-1000 word essay or if you simply can't then maybe let your mom, relative or friend write for you. :)

During my final year in the university, we were also required to write a thesis and dissertation. That was before the internet age , so we practically have to dig through all the dusty books in our library and spend a lot of time and money doing the actual research and interviews of actual people involved. How fortunate are the students these days. If they need to research on something, they don't need to do library hopping or spend a lot of time doing the research. With just the click of a mouse, they can find the things they are looking for. Better yet, there are also sites that offers to do the writing of thesis, dissertation and other papers.

Haay.. times have really changed...and I think that proves that I've really gotten old. :)

32 years old???!!

It was only when I was typing the numbers above that reality struck me. I'm no longer 'young'. :) Somehow, I think I've stopped counting my age at the age of 23. That's why I still feel and maybe 'act' like 23? But... age will surely show on the face and those extra flabs on the body. heheh!

In exactly 5 days I'll be turning 32 years old and I'm thankful to God for the past 32 years that has gone in my life. I could truly say that I've been blessed by God. Though sometimes I could say that I'm not worthy to be blessed like this.. but that's because He is a God of grace and faithfulness. He has truly been faithful in my life.

  • I thank God for giving me a wonderful family, my parents and siblings, in-laws, my loving Hubby, adorable kids and friends from all over.

  • I thank God for experiences both good and bad that molded me the way I am now.

My prayer for this year and the years to come... is that I would be able to live out my life, the way God wanted me to live, to please my God and Saviour. Be a blessing to people around me and that I may be able to do things that affect eternity.....

The Uniqueness of a Woman

A woman is indeed unique, apart from the gift that God has given to women to bear children now only recently it has been discovered that we have something that could save lives and treat diseases. How? Through our menstrual stem cells. A lot of scientific research, tests and actual testimonies have proven that stem cells could indeed treat a wide variety of diseases including leukemia, ovarian cancer, alzheimer's , autism and others. And now, an exciting new research shows that menstrual fluid stem cells that can be easily collected, processed and cryo-preserved for potential cellular therapies that may emerge in the future by using C'elle.

Wow! Isn't that amazing? I'm not very medically inclined and I can't fully comprehend and explain About the Science of stem cell but new discoveries such as these really amazes me and keeps me thinking how things like these could cure such diseases. Thank God for scientists, researchers and doctors. If you want to learn more about this then better view the C'elle Client Testimonial and purchase your C'Elle kit while they have this "Caring is Sharing" get one free promotion and start saving lives today!

Our Trip to Ipoh Part 2

This is the kids' swimming pool where our daughter spent most of her time. What's nice about this pool is that even if it's big, it's a safe place for kids. So, Tricia just explored the place all by herself, went up and down the slides..until she befriended 2 dutch girls ages about 6 and 8.

It wasn't just Tricia who enjoyed the pool but Lyle too! It was his first time to be in a pool..pity him..but he truly enjoyed his time in the water and even refused to leave.. He cried so hard when it was time for him to be out of the pool.

And at the end of the day, we had the famouse ABC or Ice Kacang from Ipoh. It was so yum especially with the ice cream on top...but I think Filipino Halo-halo is still the BEST!hehehe!

..if you want to know more about the Lost WOrld of Tambun or Ipoh, I've written a more specific post on my TRAVEL Blog .

Certification

To those who don't know, I'm a graduate of Interior Design. I practiced my profession only for awhile and then I stopped working. Maybe if I choose to go back to my chosen field now, I would have to work very hard as the Interior Design is a career that changes with the time - the trends, technology and designs. I'm sure I'm more than 10 years behind and it'll be very difficult for me to catch up unless I do some courses to refresh myself, learn new things and build my niche.

Learning is indeed a continuous thing and in this changing and competitive world we need to always learn and upgrade ourselves. If you're in the IT field, I could just imagine the changes that happens practically everyday and a 4 year degree course won't be enough to catch up. Good thing that there's Cisco certification that can help you upgrade yourself and make you on top in the IT field. The Cisco Certification begins from the Entry land Associate Level Certification up to the Expert-Level Certification. How does a Cisco certification benefit you? Well, the value of Cisco Career Certifications includes
  • Higher salaries
  • A competitive advantage
  • New Career Options
  • Professional recognition
So better start and do something to make you stand out from the rest of the IT professionals. Get your Cisco Certification.

Well, back to my Interior Design field, if I do decide to get back to work in my profession, I will also have to find good schools and courses to help me get back to my feet. :)

Home Sweet Home...

I just called my family back home in the Philippines last night and everyone's home now except me. HUhuhu! My brother's family went back home for a holiday. So, they were telling me that they were in my Mom's house eating Double Dutch Icecream and chocolate cake. :) I could just imagine all of them gathering around our table with all our nephews and nieces. Haaayy.. Made me miss home.. and double dutch Ice cream too..LOL! And as a result made me count the months and days too till we visit our family back home.

I got 78% C

I just took a Bills IQ test to see if we're financially fit and I got a score of 78 % C.!

It's not that bad but as I took the test, I realized that we still have a lot of things to do in order to improve our financial stability like doing a proper planning in savings and doing some kind of investment in the near future. Saving money must indeed be planned out and not only save the extra money we get monthly because as in most cases there is no extra cash at the end of of the month. :) I also realized that loans and credit card payments must indeed be paid on time, if not interests will go way up above our heads. Though we could always do Debt consolidation but this would be the last resort if we're not careful with our paying our loans and credit card on time. But it is a good thing though that we know that there is such thing as Debt help . This will indeed provide us Debt relief when we can't handle our finances properly.

What about you? You might be curious to know if you're financially fit. Why don't you try to find it out now using the Bills IQ test. Then let me know how you score ok? :)

Our Trip to Ipoh Part 1

Finally, we're back home now.

Our family truly had a great trip to Ipoh. As I've mentioned last week, we were not there for a holiday but to attend a conference. But since it's a family trip, we mixed a bit of pleasure for the kids to enjoy!..so, even before going there, I made a bit of research and found out about the Lost World of Tambun...so off to Tambun we went.

We traveled from our place in the afternoon..and thus saw the sunset.

The Lost World of Tambun

I love their design concept.. this is one of the cats who welcomed us.

Before going for a swim. We went on a train ride first to see the whole place.

See this happy girl? She extremely enjoyed herself swimming in the kids pool.

...you'll see who else had fun at the Tambun...on my next post..........to be continued

Eyeglasses, Contact lenses, Lasik

Just a few days ago, I was talking to our friend about my HUbby's new glasses. We got new glasses for him since our 9 month old son broke his old one.

It's really quite a hassle wearing eyeglasses. There are always these disadvantages of forgetting to wear them, getting broken, and if you don't get the perfect pair then it'll also affect your appearance. My Hubby tried to use contact lenses once but it didn't work well for him as wearing them was a constant struggle. There was this incident when he was trying to put them on and one of the lenses jumped out from his fnger. Oh it took us some time before we could find the itsy bitsy lense.

If only we could afford for him to get his eyes corrected using LASIK Technology. It's a fast and nearly painless procedure to have perfect eyesight. Not to mention it's only done once and after it's done, then no need to wear eyeglasses or buy new lenses. Lasik is a very high technology procedure which combines 3D mapping and customized treatment for the 1st all-laser technology. The US Military & NASA have approved this combination on personnel including pilots and astronauts.

Some people are afraid of doing this procedure but as I've mentioned it's nearly a painless procedure and it will be done in no time. Better yet, if your want more LASIK information then better check out this site.

We're Almost Back

HI Everyone!
We're still in Penang now and be going back to our home tomorrow. Thanks for all the messages you left in my cbox and and I promise I'll get back to you as soon as we all get settled at home.
We had a great 'break' here in Malaysia with family and I'll be posting pictures soon. Time flew so fast and I can't believe that I've been away from the blogosphere for almost a week! :) During the first few days we tried to get an internet connection but we just didn't have the time. It was like my fingers were so 'itchy' and would want to blog..hahaha! or even jsut take a peek at my mails or blog. But after a day or two, I already gave up the thought of checking our mails or blog and just enjoyed our time here.
So, that's all for now.See you all soon!

One Week Off

Wow! I can't believe that I've been away from the blogosphere for almost a week now. We've actually been traveling around that's why. My Hubby drove all the way from Thailand to Malaysia and we will be driving down all the way back again tomorrow. It's quite a long travel and a long drive and that explains my Hubby's back pain.

My Hubby has been having constant back pain for quite sometime now. For quite some time, we've been looking for a good car seat or anything that would relieve his back pain. And lately I've found out some orthopedic products that will relieve back pains, wrist pains, carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, tendinitis, tennis elbow, neck, knees, or migraines and sinus pain.

I've just browsed through their products and it looks like great alternative to pain relievers that has side effects and such. Their products will correct the problem the natural way using carpal tunnel relief .

And guess what, if you've been having some wrist problems due to constant heavy blogging, there are some great products for you too. It's called SmartGlove and helps prevent and relieve wrist pain associated with CTS, arthritis and tendinitis by encouraging proper hand and wrist position. So, if you're a serious blogger with serious wrist problems, better check this out. You can still happily blog pain free. :)

Imak

Ipoh Here COme!

Four days to go and we're off to Ipoh, Malaysia . Yipeee!. Once we get there, we're planning to take the kids to the Lost World of Tambun, it's a wet park and I'm sure the kids will love it. I just hope and pray that everything will go accordingly as planned. :) We're not actually going there for a holiday , but we're supposed to attend a conference. So, we planned to slot in a little bit of fun and pleasure before the conference starts.

I like Ipoh that's why I'm excited to go there again. If you'd like to know more about this future destination you can read more about it in my Travel Blog.

Have a blessed Sunday to everyone!!

Trying Out Get Paid to Try

It's amazing how we can earn money now just by the use of the internet. How to earn money fast by the click of a mouse? By trying out products, taking surveys and signing up to sites. Yes, no investments needed. You just need a little bit of your time each day, strong fingers to tip tap your keyboard and then you earn $$. Just that.

You've read it right. I'll write it again, you can actually get paid to try products, take survey or sign up for offers. Amazing huh? I've been to the Get to Paid site just now and whoaaa I was overwhelmed by the amount of offers that is available and cash that I could earn. Imagine earning 20$ by just signing up in their member's bonus. I'm sure going to go back there again and see their new offers. And by the way, if you're from US then you'd get more offers since a some of their offers are for US residents only.

Anyways, it's a great way to spend a few minutes each day and earn. Okay, now I really have to organize my time so aside from my blogging, I could spare a few minutes for this. :)

Being a MOm

There are good days and not so good days in being a MOm. Today is one of those not so good days. I've always struggled feeding my 4 year old. I still spoon feed her and even with that, it takes her ages to chew and swallow her food. I can't let her independently eat her food by herself because she'll end up playing and barely touching it.And to top it off, my daughter already looks so thin. So, today I got a bit emotional and scolded her, gave her a nice sermon...but at the end felt guily ..because eating should be a pleasure and not a burden esp. to children.

I'll have to get back searching these things in babycenter.com again. I think I won't have a problem feeding my 2nd child since he's always excited to eat. :)

Any brilliant suggestions on how to let 4 year old eat with pleasure?? ;)

Reminiscing the 80's

1980's.. There were still no VCD or DVD players at that time. I could remember that my Mom and I would go to this small video shop in our hometown and rent some video tapes which we call as Betamax.

I had a few favorite 1980's movie. Even when I was younger I was already attracted to love stories like Mannequin, 16 Candles and the animated movie Little Mermaid. I could still remember Andrew McCarthy's cute smile in the movie Mannequin, Molly Ringwald's dress in 16 Candles and of course, Ariel's beautiful songs in Little Mermaid.

For those born in the 60's and 70's, isn't nice to reminisce the movies in the 80's? This includes the famous movie entitled which is celebrating it's 25th anniversary. In line with the event, WarGames will be played in selected theater on the 24th of July this year. So better hurry and buy your tickets.

Small Steps at a Time

One blessing in surfing the net is your get to learn about new things you won't have learned otherwise. So, Environment here's what I've learned lately.

Do you know that simple things we do like doing a search query online emits a fraction of a gram of CO2 per search? That may not sound much to you. But I for one make several searches a day and not only me but that there are also millions of people making several searches a day. So, can you imagine how much of CO2 are emitted per day? And I wonder how much that would total up in a year or in a decade??

Regularly we hear of the inevitable effects of global warming and the importance of saving our environment but sometimes we just shrug it off and get to live our daily lives. We can make a difference even if we take small steps at a time. Take for example use Carbon Neutral Search. This Search Engine offsets equal to about 300 g of carbon dioxide emissions generated through producing search queries. So, if millions of people use this environment friendly search engine, the that would create a major difference, isn't?

Writing about this now, reminded to be aware of our environment and made me think of other ways to be a good steward of what God has given us .. the earth.

Happy Anniversary!

I didn't realize until today that it'll be the 1st year anniversary of my blog. :) My 1st post for this blog was on the 23rd of July of 2007.

So as part of my anniversary celebration (?) I'd like to tell you of my blog history.

I originally started to blog in Friendster more that 3 years ago with the intent to update my family back home about Tricia. I thought I won't have anything to blog about myself so, I turned out blogging about my daughter's development and milestone. Then I found out about Yahoo blogs and was encouraged to blog there too coz it seemed fun since my friends were blogging from there too. So, from my daughter's development I started to blog about my family and myself. My blogging also saved us a lot of text messages and phonecalls back home ,as I would just tell my mom.. "Oh , this is what happened during our trip...but just read my blog for more details." :) I still set my blog into private mode since it was meant for only my family and some close friends. The thought of other people ("strangers') reading about my personal life didn't appeal to me much at that time.

Then my friend Janet introduced me to blogger. I created an account and found a lot of great features that yahoo blog doesn't have. And that's where I also found out a BIG community of bloggers all over the world and even spilling out everything about their lives. hahaha! As I read other people's blog , I found out that it's okay and not much of a big deal blogging about our lives, our kids and eveything under the sun.

At first, I was so shy to make myself known and ask for link exchange. So I'd just be luring around other blogs and be the silent reader. :) Then there were times that their post was just inspiring or encouraging that I couldn't help but comment. One by one other bloggers visited my blog..asked for link exhange , while I also started to come out from my shell and the rest is history.

So here I am now a year full pledge blogger. I thank you my readers, and my friends for visiting my blog and reading my posts - some interesting, some boring . To recap my 1 year of blogging, I'm blessed with more friends all over the world, I'm blessed to learn a lot of things through my friends' posts, I'm blessed to enhance my writing skills (oh, was it?) I'm also blessed with an added income through this..and not to mention, I'm having fun doing it.

Happy Anniversary, Bloggy Girl! :)

My Hubby's Eyeglasses

I don't know why but our son seems to like eyeglasses. Whenever my Hubby carries him, the first thing that he would grab will be my HUbby's glasses. and pull it so hard. As a result he broke my Hubby's glasses! So we had to go to the shop and buy a new one for him. And it turned out that our friend paid for it and said, it'll be a gift for my HUbby. Wow! It's such a blessing for us.

Anyways, the glasses was a bit expensive and it turned out that Zenni Optical $ 8 Rx Eyeglasses are quite cheaper. I've heard about this optical shop a few months ago and the latest buzz is that Zenni Optical was on FOX news ! Wow! Great! It must be because of their great prices and Incredible Stylish New Frames From Zenni.

What's Up?

What's up with me? Been quite busy lately ( as usual ) with kids and housework. Well, who won't be busy when our 9 month old son is growing up fast while our 4 year old easily gets bored?

Apart from that, my "free time" is spent browsing in the internet.. checking my mails, my blogs, my cbox, comments and trying to reply to them all. But sadly I can't reply everything in a day.. Even when trying to steal some time in between keeping the kids occupied and cooking or doing laundry. Sometimes I'm quiet successful in that..I put Lyle in his walker while Tricia plays around while I do my internet thing...but usually it only last for several minutes as Lyle also gets bored and tired 'walking' in the walker..heehee!

Everyday, it seems there are so many things to do but too little time..too many things to do at home..too many things to do in my blog ..and etc.. oh well, I think this just proves that I'm not that organized with my time anymore.. I better get back to being organize and manage my time well.

Our Internet Connection

Currently, we have a 2 Mbps internet connection but still I'm not yet satisfied with the speed. I'm not sure if it has something to do with our laptop or our internet service provider but it's still not performing as fast as I wanted.

Just lately I hear this buzz about Charter internet. I can't believe that they have a 5Mbps internet speed for only 14.99/month!! wow!! I wonder how fast would that be. Not only that this deal also comes with a $25 Shell Gas Gift card when an order is purchased online from this page. Wohoo! Try it out! It's a risk free deal since they also offer a 30 day window for cancellation. Check it out and you'll discover they have more offers to give you for this package.

My New Bicycle!

Yes, you read it right..it's not my daughter who has a new bicycle but ME! LOL!! Last week, I decided that I should to a little bit of fun exercise and I chose riding the bicycle. So, I was thinking to borrow our friend's bicycle. Our friends are back in the Philippines, so I emailed them and asked if I could use their bike , which they willing agreed. But my HUbby kept on insisting, "why don't I buy a new bicycle for you?" As stingy as I am, I said, "No, I'm contented with our friend's bike". But when my Hubby went to check out their bike, it turned out that it's not in a very good condition anymore and he said, if we repair it it's like buying a new bike, so why don't we buy a new ones instead?..heheh!

I almost gave up the thought of my "fun" exercise since I don't want to buy a new one which we can only use for a few months ( since we will be going back to the Philippines at the end of the year). But when we went window shopping at Big C the other night, we saw that they have bicycles for sale at more that 50% off. It was really a great bargain and so, my HUbby bought one for me. Hehehe!

So, this evening I started my bicycle ride around the neighborhood. How I like the wind against my face and the fact that my legs are starting to ache when I push the pedal..heheeh! it means, the exercise is working..hehe! While riding the bike, I could remember my childhood days and how I went around our subdivision with friends. In other words, I felt like a kid again riding my bike..hehehe!! But it's okay it's a good breather for me after a long day with the kids and a good exercise too. :)

Sorry Bloggy...

This is supposed to be my primary blog but because I have other blogs to maintain... From Asia and Beyond and Day to Day Miracles. It seems that I've been neglecting this blog a bit and only get a chance to write posts when there's a 'task' or paid "opportunity" to write. " Sorry bloggy ha?".. heheheh!! My other two blogs are quite new that's why I try to write more posts for them too.

Anyways, I'm so much into blogs now that I realized that my life is getting imbalanced. I've got to make some changes. And tonight, I would like to announce that I'll turn off our laptop at exactly 11pm and get ready to sleep. :)

Gud night everyone and have a blessed Sunday tomorrow!!

PRecious Ones!

It's been quite awhile since I've posted some pictures of my family. So, here is the latest. Lyle is already 8 months old (turning 9 on the 15th) , Tricia is 4 years old and my HUbby is turning ___ years old this December..LOL!

Passing the Chalice

I got this chalice from Ruby! Thanks so much birthday girl! Actually,if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't learn so much about the blog world.

"I would love to pass on the chalice , that has honed my blog skills and to those others whom i feel will benefit from the holy elixir of blogging. These people deserve it , much as the same way i feel , i do :). . ."

So, I pass this chalice to Janet, who inspired me to blog and encourage me to monetize my blog, to Angel who answered many of my questions through YM, and back to Ruby who has come up with so many ideas to increase our links, technorati and etc.

Thanks guys!

The Game, the Gnome

Unknown-1

Gone are the days or maybe years when I used to play video games. There wasn't even online games or play station at that time. I could still remember that we used the rectangle cartridge sthat looks like a cassette tapes to push into the computer. And of course, there were arcade video games where you put in a coin to be able to play. After I got home from school, I would look forward to play a game or two before doing my homework. That was my way, of de-stressing I guess.

But now, the times are different. ( Talking about the past and present makes me feel so old now. LOL! ) There are now several online games available anywhere and anytime. And I've also heard that there is this latest online video game DungeonRunners . The concept in the game is quite funny though because, players can get magical Bling Gnome that eat their unwanted items and turn them into gold by just taking a squat. This one is sure to be an entertaining game.

If anyone in your household are into games, you can download this for FREE . Just click on the image above. Or better yet, you can purchase a subscription. Try it out! Be entertained and de-stress.

For the meantime, you might want to see my baby, dressed up like a gnome. Isn't he a cutee?

The Motorcycle Ride

Finally, after several months I've ridden the motorbike again! I almost forgot that I could ride a motorbike. Yesterday, we were all just outside and playing with the kids and I saw the bike. So, I decided to ride it first and take Tricia for a ride around the neighborhood. She enjoyed it like I did! You know, the exhilarating feeling of the wind on your face and the speed (even if I didn't ride that fast).

Maybe I should ride the motorbike more often now and get back to my once routine of going by motorbike early in the morning to go to the gym.

Well, there's no hope for me to start tomorrow since it's already late and I can't wake up early for sure. I hope I could do that the next day. I'm keeping my hopes up and I really, really have to sleep early and STOP BLOGGING late at night. Well..good night now.

Firefox and Internet Explorer

It's just now that I realized that when my blog is viewed using Internet Explorer, it becomes messy and the middle column goes all the way down. But, when it is viewed with Firefox, everything is well- arranged and beautiful ( hehee!). Hmm..what to do? I'm sure a lot of you are still using Internet Explorer. Anyways, I won't change my template for now. It really requires a lot of time to do so since I'm not an expert. I'm not even done changing the template for my travel blog.

Home Improvement Loan

Our house in the Philippines is not in a very good condition anymore and we might need a home improvement loan. I'm already dreaming what needs to be done in order to beautify our house. We live near the river and it would be nice if we could make our house with a resort-like design. Hmm..dream..dream..dream..

Do you think there would be a company that gives an unsecured home improvement loan ? A company with that has low interest rate and doesn't take any application fees for loans? If then, it would would be great so anyone could easily apply for home improvement loans.
